Rovi

Phil and his friend Dan dine with chef Yotam Ottolenghi at his new vegetable-focused restaurant, Rovi. They try shakshuka, wood fired tomatoes over yogurt with bread, and their signature celery root “shawarma” sandwich. They also have meat and fish dishes, but the rich flavors of the wood-fired vegetables are the star of the show.

Rochelle Canteen

Phil meets Sophie Winkleman (Lady Frederick Windsor) for a lovely outdoor brunch at Rochelle Canteen, a boy’s school from the 1800s that was transformed into a restaurant. Chef Margot Henderson prepares soft scrambled eggs on toast, chicken and leek pie, and a pork chop with fennel.

Dukes

Phil and his wife Monica are joined by Liam Charles for an afternoon drink at the Dukes Bar, located in the Dukes hotel. Dukes is home to the world’s best martini, and is actually the place where Ian Fleming would have a martini when writing the James Bond novels. However, if you’d like an authentic martini, order it stirred and not shaken.

Borough Hall Market

Joined by his wife Monica and longtime friends Tom and Cathy, Phil stops at one of his favorite spots in London; The Borough Hall Market. Populated by food stands from all over the world, it’s London’s oldest fruit and vegetable market, and has been there for hundreds of years. Phil enjoys a bubble and squeak sandwich from Maria’s Market Cafe, a perfect grilled cheese toastie from Kappacasein, and many other treats along the way.

Brat

Phil grabs lunch with Nigella Lawson at Tomos Parry’s Brat. They share freshly baked bread topped with anchovy and garlic, roasted langoustine, and a whole wild turbot for which the restaurant is named. “Brat” is an old british slang word for turbot.

Artichoke

The first stop of an urban workout food tour with his friends David and Stephen Flynn from The Happy Pear, Phil stops by the fruit store Artichoke for a quick snack. They have fruits and vegetables from everywhere, mangoes from Pakistan, figs from Lebanon… a perfect stop for beautiful fresh produce.

Les Filles

Another stop with the Happy Pear boys, Phil meets Sonia and Hayet who run Les Filles, a small bakery/coffee shop in Hampstead. Rose tea porridge, avocado toast, frozen chocolate chia pudding, and a delightful array of baked goods help Phil recover from the Happy Pear exercise regiment.

The last stop of Phil’s food-jog, Phil grabs a coffee at one of London’s best coffee destinations. Along with fantastic espresso, Phil enjoys a slice of babka and carrot cake.

Jay Rayner, the leading food critic from The Guardian, takes phil to his favorite place to get fish and chips. Just a little salt and vinegar drizzled over beautifully crispy fish, served by the real Ken!

For his final meal in London, Phil eats a modern Indian feast with all his friends from the episode. Double bacon and egg breakfast roll on freshly baked naan, chilli chicken, and lamb biryani are just a small sample of this massive meal. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Phil has to try a little bit of everything. For every meal sold, Dishoom donates a school lunch to underprivileged kids in India and the UK.
