PHIL'S Croatia LOCATIONS

Kruscic Bakery

Located in the town of Split, Phil’s first stop in Croatia is Kruscic Bakery. He tries an assortment of delicious Croatian pastries, including viska pogace (a stuffed bread with tomato sauce).

Address: Obrov ul. 6, 21000, Split, Croatia

Diocletian’s Palace

Phil meets his new friend Gordon at Diocletian’s Palace, built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. The palace encompasses what was the old city of Split, and is now open to the public to walk around and tour.

Address: Dioklecijanova 1, 21000, Split, Croatia

St. Burek

While walking back from the palace, Phil can’t help but try his first burek at St. Burek, getting one with meat and one with spinach and cheese. These stuffed filo-pockets are delicious and make a perfect lunch! If Phil lived in Croatia, he would eat one every day!

Address: Domaldova ul. 13, 21000, Split, Croatia

Kantun Paulina

Everybody keeps telling Phil he needs to get a Cevapi at Kantun Paulina, so what do you think he does? Cevapi is a Bosnian beef sausage sandwich with sauce and vegetables, sort of like a hamburger, and Kantun Paulina might have the best one in Split.

Address: Matošića ul. 1, 21000, Split, Croatia

Gelateria Emiliana

After his lunch Phil needs a little treat, so he stops at Gelateria Emiliana for a scoop of lemon-lavender gelato. Delicious!

Address: Cosmijeva ul. 1, 21000, Split, Croatia

Konoba Menego

Phil takes a boat ride to Hvar to meet the mayor Ricardo Novak for a tour of the town and lunch at his favorite restaurant, Konoba Menego. They enjoy a smorgasbord of Croatian delicacies, similar to antipasto.

Address: Kroz Grodu 26, 21450, Hvar, Croatia

aROMA Gelato Boutique Hvar

Since Croatia is so close to Italy, there’s a lot of Gelato to be found! Phil stops by Aroma Gelato Boutique, where he tries lemon-basil, hazelnut, rum-raisin, and chocolate-orange.

Address: Fabrika 25, 21450, Hvar, Croatia

Korcula

Korcula is beautiful island of Croatia with a shore that is home to many sea urchins, and Phil gets a little lesson in urchin diving from Ivan Marelic. Don’t go diving without an instructor, because it can be dangerous, as Phil unfortunately finds out.

Konoba Maha

After drying off, Phil is invited by Ivan to lunch at his family-run restaurant Konoba Maha! They enjoy hand-crafted cocktails, freshly baked bread with the sea urchin from earlier that day, and roasted octopus. This gorgeous outdoor restaurant is operated by Ivan and his brother Jaksa.

Address: Vrsi bb, 20275, Žrnovo, Croatia

Konoba Mate

Phil goes into the hills of Korcula for a meal at another family operated restaurant, Konoba Mate, where he is joined by the Mate family. They enjoy a family-style pasta lunch, featuring hand-rolled macaroni with tomato sauce, goat cheese ravioli, and many more delicious pastas.

Address: Village Island, località Pupnat, Korcula, 20260, Croatia

Barba

Phil makes his way to Dubrovnik, and while walking around he has to stop for an octopus burger at Barba. Once he gets there, he ends up getting everything. Fried calamari, smelt, and oysters! But the real showstopper here is that octopus burger.

Address: Boškovićeva ul. 5, 20000, Dubrovnik, Croatia

Gverovic Orsan

For his last meal in Croatia, Phil has dinner at one of the best seafood restaurants in the world, Gverovic Orsan. Another family-run establishment, this seaside restaurant has been open since 1966. Phil enjoys fresh oysters by the half-shell, scorpion fish (Phil’s favorite fish), and their famous black risotto.

Address: Na ratu 7, 20235, Dubrovnik, Croatia
