Crocante Restaurant
Phil’s first stop in Orlando is Crocante for some Puerto Rican food! Crocante translates to crunchy in english, and chef Yamuel Bigio’s restaurant specializes in all things crispy and crunchy. Phil enjoys octopus tacos with a fried plantain shell, homemade sausage, chicharrones… and then finishes his meal with a gloriously crispy porchetta!

East End Market
Phil meets up with Orlando Sentinel food writer Amy Drew Thompson at East End Market, an indoor market with many different delicious vendors!

Hinckley’s Fancy Meats
First up is Hinckley’s Fancy Meats, where Matt Hinckley serves Phil a duck BLT with eggs for breakfast! They also enjoy a rabbit pate, curried pig’s head, and chicken salad with preserved lemon.

La Femme Du Fromage
Next they meet Tonda Corrente at La Femme Du Fromage for an awesome grilled cheese with truffle and bacon. Phil says it’s one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches that he’s ever had! They also taste an assortment of delicious cheeses, paired with fresh fruit and charcuterie.

Domu
Phil and Amy’s next stop in East End Market is Domu, where chef Sonny Nguyen serves up some delicious fried chicken wings and tonkotsu ramen. This deliciously rich shoyu-miso pork broth will transport you to Japan, and the ramen is topped with a bruleed egg. Any ramen fan should add Domu to their list when planning a trip to Orlando!

Gideon’s Bakehouse
Phil and Amy finish off their lunch at the Gideon’s Bakehouse. Steven Lewis’s cookies are well known, and are a meal in themselves, weighing in at around a half pound per cookie! They are absolutely loaded with chocolate chips, oreos, and all sorts of mix-ins. You need these cookies in your life.

Wild Willy’s Airboat Tours
Phil takes a ride on a fan-powered airboat at WIld Willy’s Airboat Tours. If you feel like getting up close and personal with an alligator, this tour is for you! This is a fun way to explore some incredible Florida wildlife.

Sampaguita Ice Cream
Phil grabs some ice cream with State Representative Anna Eskemani at the ice cream shop Sampaguita. Marie Mercado and Mo Hassan’s Filipino ice cream shop is not only delicious, but offers flavors and desserts that you won’t find at an ordinary ice creamery! Guava creamsicle, soy sauce butterscotch, and coconut pandan are just a few of their unique flavors. Make sure you try their vegan halo halo, one of Phil’s favorite sundaes anywhere in the world.

Se7enBites
Phil meets up with activist Brandon Wolf (survivor of the Pulse Nightclub shooting) for breakfast at Trina Gregory Propst’s Se7enBites. Known for its baked goods and decadent menu options, whether you’re coming for breakfast or lunch, make sure you bring your appetite. Chicken and waffle sandwiches, bacon and beef sloppy joes, southern Cuban sandwiches… while this won’t be your healthiest meal in Orlando, it might be your tastiest.

Kennedy Space Center
Phil gets a tour of the Kennedy Space Center from astronaut Winston Scott! This is a great place to visit and learn all about space travel. Phil gets into the Rover Simulator, and experiences what it’s like to land and drive around on another planet!

Banh Mi Boy
Phil goes to Little Saigon to meet up with food blogger Ricky Ly at Banh Mi Boy, located in the Tien Hung Market. These banh mis are some of the best sandwiches in Florida, and go great with a Vietnamese iced coffee!

Black Bee Honey
Phil goes to a honey tasting run by Black Bee Honey’s program director, Alexis Hicks. Along with being a delicious product, Black Bee Honey is also an organization that gives kids the tools to become entrepreneurs by teaching them everything they need to know about running their own business. Consider buying one of their great products, or making a donation!
Kook’n with Kim
Phil meets up with Councilwoman Wanda Randolph at the legendary soul food restaurant Kook’n with Kim, located in the historically significant town of Eatonville. Chef Kim Middleton’s delicious food usually draws lines by the time they open, so make sure you come early and hungry! Phil enjoys a plate of meatloaf, and turkey wings smothered in gravy.

Capa
For his final meal of the trip, Phil has dinner with all of his Orlando friends at Capa. Run by Michelin star chef Malyna Si, this beautiful restaurant specializes in tapas and steaks. They enjoy two types of paella and steaks, all served family-style!
